Hi Leah-
We want to thank you for coming to interview for the Casting position at Alyson Horn Casting. Unfortunately, we will not be able to offer you a position at this time. We enjoyed meeting you but feel that, at this point, you don't have the level of experience necessary to fill this position. We wish you the very best in your future endeavors.
Thanks,
The Alyson Horn Casting Team
.......
1) It's Ramani.
2) "level of experience"? by this do mean making phones or scheduling auditions? didn't realize both require more than a college degree and half a brain.
3) if you really wished me the best for my future, you wouldn't keep me unemployed.
xo.

It's a been a minute. I could lie and say the entire time I've been gone, I was watching movies. That I've been SO busy watching movies that I couldn't even spare a minute to update you on whether Wings was actually worth the 3 hours of silent, black & white drama. It wasn't. So I'm moving on. Why give up now? Because watching a movie a day is getting in the way of my new, improved, highly entertaining new blog called: Operation: Get This Girl a Job. It's almost been a year since I moved out to Jollywood. That is scary to think about. I feel my "career" (or lack there of) has been running around me in circles. It seems as though it's no longer who you know, but "who you'll blow." I hate to be blunt, but it's tough out here. Getting a job is like winning the lottery. Don't worry, I still plan on watching movies. Someone recently told me I should probably get a job before I sat around watching movies all day, and at this point, I'll take all the advice I can get. So here goes the memoirs of my adventures, romps, triumphs, sorrows, awkward networking parties, premiers, trips to the dollar store, and more. Welcome to the semi-beginnings of a girl who's trying to do the impossible: get a job in Hollywood.

There have been 456 films nominated for best picture from 1927-2009. I've seen 40 of them. A pretty rough number for someone who went through film school. Well I think it's time to raise that number...by around 416. Someone once told me to appreciate movies I should be watching one a day. I laughed and told them to get a life. And now here I am, about to watch a movie a day in order to reach my goal of seeing every movie ever nominated for an academy award for best picture. With the help of Netflix, frozen yogurt, and some yummy trader joe's snacks, that's exactly what I plan on doing...starting tomorrow. Hey, it's late. So, tomorrow, it starts:
Day one of 416.
Movie of choice = Wings, 1927
Produced by Lucien Hubbard.
